rewind Art Community is a community based performance art in Jakarta, consisting of performance arts actors, both individuals or groups. The main focus of the practice of performance art, participation and implementation of performance art event. Starting from an annual performance art event titled "Rewind Art" is the title on the campus of State University of Jakarta (UNJ) since 2001.

Event "Rewind Art" was conceived KMSR (Family Fine Arts Students) UNJ and Community under Table (A community of young artists on campus UNJ, existed in 2001-2003). Previous practice in the campus performance art UNJ has started since the early 90's through a series of sporadic acts of non-event, the opening exhibition event, and student demonstrations.

To contain the spread of interest in performance art in 2002 KMSR UNJ form communities called Community Performing Arts, but only lasted until the year 2003. Next Event Rewind Art organized by student organizations BEMJ / HIMA SR UNJ (Art Students' UNJ) and included in their annual work programs.

When walking on campus and the phenomenon is starting UNJ outside world. Invite first appeared in September of 2004 when the National Gallery of Indonesia specifically invite their usual performance in the event Rewind Art to do a special performance and presentation (as was the performance of M. Al-Firdaus, Arief Rachman, Arief Darmawan Agus Jemat, Ari Suprayogo, Arief Widiarso, Renno & Hady Ahmad).

Along with the start berdatangannya invitation to participate in performance art event of national or international scale off-campus, student groups such actors performance art requires an identity to be identified publicly. So in the year 2006 on the initiative and Arief Agus Darmawan Jemat triggered Community Art Rewind name as the identity of the perpetrators who embody the art of performance in KMSR UNJ. Since then Rewind Art Event at Art Rewind held by the Community of the implementation work with HIMA SR UNJ until now.

Rewind the meaning of Art begins its originator Art Event Rewind experiencing existential anxiety in their lives in the world of art. Find the fact that the average performance art activities undertaken by humans is an activity to rewind anything. Performance takes the visual arts of daily life in the form of one or a combination of motion, sound, events, equipment, clothing, interactions, conversations, thoughts, imagination and emotion are then repeated in part or in full at the time and space dimensions to give a response different from thinking and feelings. Activity is analogous to the Rewind button (<<) recording media player that functions to turn back the previous section.
